In Our Care
LUCA, Sr., Vincent J. Of Delray Beach, Florida, February 6, 2021. Former husband of the Ann Luca (Cirolo). Beloved father of Vincent J. Luca, Jr. and his wife Laura of Newport Beach, CA, Charles Luca of Melrose, Francis Luca and his wife Clara of South Beach Florida, Therese Luca of Gloucester, and Anne Walsh and her husband David of Winchester. Devoted brother of Grace Ayers of Wakefield, Nunzio Luca of Westborough, Charles Luca and his wife Mary of Boynton Beach, Florida, and the late Joseph P. Luca and the late David Luca. He is forever remembered with love and affection by his four grandchildren, Maddie, Ronan, Eireann, and Pasquale with whom he shared a special bond and many special days.
Vin grew up in a large and boisterous household. He joined the phone company out of high school and found that his real calling was in helping out others less fortunate than he. He became a business agent for the union to provide support and assistance to those in need. This aspiration followed him when he started his own telecom company. This was a business that was, in many ways, a home to people in need. Vin was always giving a helping hand to others, whether it be friends or family. He tried to live by the golden rule of treating others with respect and kindness.
Vin believed in education and the betterment of oneself. Although he did not have the initial means to attend college right after high school, he made the harder commitment of attending night school to attain his college dreams. And he encouraged his children to aspire to those same goals as well.
After completing his career working for the Massachusetts State Industrial Accident Board for 10 years, Vin retired to Delray Beach in Florida to enjoy time playing golf with his friends.
Vin was a proud, longtime member of Oakley Country Club in Watertown, where he made many lasting friendships. His late in life love for golf, his indefatigable enjoyment of life and friends, his passion about wine and winemaking proved to be some of his best memories. But it was his constant love for his family that will be carried on in our hearts. He was a kind soul who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The world is slightly less bright now that he has gone.
A private Burial Service will be held at the Cambridge Cemetery where he will be interred with his parents and his best friend, his brother Joe.
A Celebration of Vin’s Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the David P. Luca Scholarship Fund at:
