In Our Care

Giliberto, Vincent James, 92, of Arlington, formerly of Somerville and Boston’s West End, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Vincent was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 64 years, Lucy (La Monica), a dedicated and nurturing father to his three children, Anthony and his wife Deborah of Lexington, Carmela Boutin and her husband Jeffrey of Chelmsford, Marjorie and her husband Robert Bernhard of Florence, and the precious grandfather “Ging” to Joseph and John of Lexington. Vincent is also survived by his brother, Salvatore of Medford, and many nieces and nephews. Vincent was predeceased by his parents Antonino and Carmela (D’Augusta), his sisters, Lena (Giliberto) Seluta and Concetta (Giliberto) Previti, and his brother, Steve. Vincent served proudly in the US Marine Corps in World War II, and was an active member of the Veterans Administration in Bedford. A letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 37 years, Vincent was well liked by his co-workers and a welcome sight to everyone on his routes. Vincent enjoyed vacations with his wife, writing, reading, dancing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Vincent’s ready smile, compassion, and quick wit made him a joy to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass in celebration of Vincent’s life at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 51 Medford St., Arlington, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
