Sandy passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, just shy of her 79th birthday, having endured a long battle with cancer. Born in Des Moines Iowa, she succeeds Helen and Cecil "Ed" Calkin and her sister MarySue Carroll. She is survived by her beloved husband Richard King, her son Brian Marple and his wife Elizabeth Marple of Lunenburg, her son Stephen Marple and his wife Linda Marple of Westford, and her stepson Daniel King and his wife Debra King of Columbus, OH. She is survived by five grandchildren: Anne Marple of Eliot, ME, David Marple of Ayer, Timothy Marple of Amherst, Lauren Marple and Jeremy Marple, both of Westford. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Debbie Landrum and Rodney Carroll and their families. Sandy was an avid quilter, genealogist, and active member of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Arlington. She was very proud of her participation in the Women’s Alliance group within the church. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3 at 11:00 am at The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Arlington, 630 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA.
