In Cambridge, September 22, 2018. Robert Francis Sanford III., known to his loved ones as "Bobby" or “Moose”, died suddenly at home in peace. Bobby was born in Cambridge, MA, the one and only son of the late Robert F. Sanford II and Lena G. Sanford (Ferolito). Bobby is survived by his two young children, Dakotah Lee Sanford and Robert Francis Sanford IV along side his step-daughter Kaylah Marie Frazier. Bobby resided in Cambridge all his life where he worked various jobs within the City he loved but “worked” primarily as a devoted and caring father to his children, a loving brother to his five sisters, a supportive uncle and a loyal and beloved friend. He was known by all and loved by truly so many. Bobby’s heart was as big as he, and his humor and teddy-bear-like qualities will be missed by all. Bobby leaves behind his Sisters, Sandra Blackburn (Sanford) of Watertown, Roberta Spinosa (Sanford) and her late husband, Salvatore, of Somerville, Palma Shorey (Sanford) and her partner, George Thompson, of Waltham and Lucille Sanford and her spouse, Nina Rodriguez of Haverhill. Bobby was predeceased by his brother in law and friend Blaine Shorey. He also leaves behind his adoring nieces, Jeanenne DeFelice (Shorey) and her husband, Brian, of Swampscott, Lina Spinosa of Somerville, Krystal Murphy (Blackburn) and her husband, Ryan, of West Peabody and Christy Shorey of Swampscott. Bobby was the proud great uncle to David & Dominic DeFelice and Gwen, Jack, Gunnar & Declan Murphy. Funeral home visiting hours will be on Thursday, September 27th from 3-8pm. with a funeral home service at 8pm. Burial is private at the request of the family. Donations in Bobby’s memory, in lieu of flowers, may be made to his children to assist with funeral expenses.
