Bob was born on Dec 19, 1942, in Somerville, MA, the oldest of three boys born to the late Margaret (LePere) and Dominic Albertazzi. He attended Somerville High School, graduated from Watertown High School in 1961, attended Northeastern University and served in the National Guard Division of the United States Army. A man devoted to his family he leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, Anne (Marasa). Loving father of Annemarie Follett and her husband Mark of New Hampshire, Gina Donaldson and her husband Stephen of Belmont and Paula of Medford; Devoted “Pops” to Anna Rose, Kelsey Grace and Carissa Nicole Donaldson; Brother of William and his wife Janice of Harwich, and Paul and his wife Linda of Killington, VT; loving uncle of Karen Fafara, Lisa Mathews, Matthew Albertazzi, Brian Albertazzi, Kerry Marasa and Heather Marasa; Brother-in-law to Rich and Evelyn Marasa of Waltham, and James and Susan Marasa of Bedford; he also leaves four great-nieces and many loving cousins and friends. Bob was a diehard baseball fan whether it be the Red Sox, minor league, Cape Cod league or Little League. Bob took great pride in his Italian heritage, traveling with his wife through Rome, Venice, Florence and realizing his life-long ambition, to walk the same streets as his grandparents through Piacenza, Italy. He was a 35-year summer resident of Fieldston Beach in Marshfield where he enjoyed gardening, swimming, boating, the ocean, fishing, lobstering, bocce and sitting on the beach with his many friends and neighbors. Long-time member of Arlington K. of C. #109 where he spent many hours playing cribbage and whist in the company of his brother Knights. Bob was an avid reader and a huge history buff as well as a lover of jazz, and enjoyed watching the stock market. He will especially be remembered for his love of family, endless conversation, sense of humor and his ability to befriend anyone wherever he went. Bob Albertazzi never met a stranger. Friends and family will especially remember Bob’s love of hosting holiday celebrations and his love of cooking and entertaining for family and friends. A 30-year employee of Polaroid Corporation, where he retired as an Engineer of Medical Imaging Systems. He was a former Arlington Town Meeting Member and a former Arlington Little League coach. Funeral from The DeVito-O'Donnell Funeral Home 1145 Mass Avenue ARLINGTON Saturday morning at 9:00. Followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Church. Interment to follow Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours at DeVito-O'Donnell Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 - 8:00 PM.
