Creedon, Rita T. (Lepine) widow of the late Ronald D. Creedon, Esq., entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Born on November 1, 1929 to her French-Canadian parents Jean Abraham Lepine and Exelia Gauvin Lepine in North Providence, RI, Rita attended high school at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH, and graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, MA. Rita worked as a registered nurse at Dr. Elliott P. Joslin’s groundbreaking diabetes clinic, training his patients in their new health regimens, and at the Deaconess Hospital in Boston. After her marriage to “Ronnie” in 1953, they resided in Cambridge for many years, where they raised three children: Donna Creedon (Kenneth Brown) of Spartanburg and Hilton Head Island, SC; Mark Creedon (Claudia Lubin) of Stamford, CT; and Michelle Morello (Francis) of Waltham, MA. Rita moved to Waltham with Ronnie in 1993 and lived there with Michelle and Fran until recently. Rita dearly cherished her grandchildren: Austin Creedon Brown and his fiancée Maggie McEntee, of Denver CO; Chase Alise and Cole David Creedon, of Montecito, CA; and Cecelia Angelica and Francis Creedon Morello of Waltham, MA. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Rita is survived by her brother-in-law, Roy Creedon and his wife Mary (Bonacci) of Belmont; sister-in-law Lois (Creedon) Jenness and her husband Donald, of Cambridge; nephews and nieces David (Emily) and Andrew (Katie) Creedon; Kenneth (Tricia) Jenness; Susan Jenness; and Carol Ann (David) Garcia; several grand-nieces and -nephews; and her dear first cousin Bernice Paquette of Chicopee, MA. Rita was an accomplished artist starting in her high school years; after putting down the paint brush to raise her family, she found great joy – after her retirement from Mount Auburn Homecare (formerly the Belmont – Watertown Visiting Nurse Association) – in her reawakened interest in oil, watercolor and acrylic painting endeavors. Many of her works grace the homes of friends and family, as well as the lucky winners of the Turkey-Rama drawings at Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted in Waltham, to which she regularly and generously donated her work. She particularly enjoyed her many years of art classes at the Watertown Senior Center, where she was also a frequent (and prize-winning) exhibitor. Rita was a dedicated member of the choirs of Sacred Heart Church, Watertown, and later, Our Lady’s. Rita was known for her kindness to and compassion for all; her love of church and family; jigsaw puzzles; handcrafts; autumn leaves; the beaches of Cape Cod; watching birds; the Red Sox; and teaching her grandchildren how to draw. Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mount Auburn Street, WATERTOWN on Wednesday, March 14th from 5 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 15th at 10:30 am in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham, MA. Please meet at church.
