Mark L. Ciano, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, leaving behind a lifetime of treasured memories. He was a loving father, a caring grandfather, a supportive brother, and a true friend to many. Mark's life was woven with love, laughter, and a deep passion for fishing, a pastime that brought him immense joy.

Born on October 27, 1937, in Cambridge, MA, Mark was the son of Giacomo and Mary Ciano. He spent his early years helping his father build their family home and developing a career in the home heating industry.

As a father, Mark instilled values of compassion, resilience, and kindness in his children. He leaves behind five living children and eight grandchildren, who will forever hold him in their hearts. He also leaves behind his brother, Angelo Ciano, who was his lifetime best friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN on Friday from 9:00 am 11:00 am and to a funeral mass at 11:30 am in Sacred Heart Church. A private family burial will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Osteosarcoma Institute, or Elder Services of Cape Cod.

Though he may have cast his final line, the memories of Mark's sharing of wisdom, cinematic storytelling, and the joy he found in fishing will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Mark, as you journey to fish the waters of eternity. Your legacy will remain etched in our souls.
