Marie A. Krepelka
March 16, 1940 - October 26, 2022
Krepelka, Marie A. (Spelman) of Arlington passed away peacefully on October 26, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Krepelka and mother of Paul M. Krepelka and Stephen T. Krepelka and his wife Heather all of Arlington. She was the proud grandmother of Madeline, Julia, and Isabelle. Sister of Paul T. Spelman and the late Joan Dusoe. She is survived by many nieces and nephews that she adored as well as legions of cherished long time friends.
Born to Thomas and Mary Spelman, Marie called Arlington home for her entire life. Affectionately known as “The Mayor" of Arlington, Marie worked in various roles for the town (Select Board Administrator since 2001) for 63 years – a feat that will likely never be surpassed. She was fiercely loyal and proud of her community. Marie maintained a wealth of institutional and historical knowledge of Arlington; which she shared with all her constituents. She served the town with her own personal dignified style and brought a warm caring presence to town hall. Simply put; Marie made Arlington a better place for everyone.
Marie’s favorite day of the year was Arlington’s Annual Town Day, which she chaired for many years. On that day, she could watch the entire Arlington community come together as one and celebrate the home that she loved.
Marie was an ardent supporter of the Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Police Department, Arlington Boys and Girls Club and numerous Catholic Charities.
She will be missed by many but will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday from 3:00 -7:00 pm in Saint Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge St., Winchester and to her funeral mass on Thursday at 10:00 am in Saint Eulalia Parish. Burial to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
