Maria Scarola (Liberati) of Medford passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 22nd at the age of 97. Born in Bassano Romano, Italy, she resided briefly in Boston's West End before settling in Medford.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni "John" Scarola. She is survived by her two daughters, Maria (Scarola) Von Euw of Medford, and Anna Scarola of Ft. Lauderdale FL, her grandchildren, Kimberly (Von Euw) Marazi of Melrose, Erik Von Euw and Nicholas Von Euw, both of Medford, great-grandchildren Ava and Domenic of Melrose, sister Lucia Liberati of Bassano, Italy, and also many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid concerns, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral mass will celebrated from St. Joseph Church in Medford at 10:00am on Monday, December 28th. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Covid protocols will be observed throughout. The service will conclude with a burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
