Holland, Marguerite (McGarity) of Lexington. October 5th at age 94. Born in Boston's South End in 1923.
Beloved wife of Timothy F. Holland Sr for 54 years until his death in 1994. Loving mother Sheila A. Copelotti Jones of West Medford, Timothy F. Holland and his wife Maria of Ayer, and Michael E. Holland and his wife Ann Marie of Winthrop. Proud grandmother of Andrew J. Copelotti of Newton, Amy C. Harrington of Groton, Denise R. Chatfield of Duxbury, Lauren M. Confoey of Wellesley Hills, and Eric A. Holland of NY. She also loved and enjoyed her nine great grandchildren. Sister of George E. McGarity and his wife Becky of Reading MA and the late Thomas Franklin McGarity, Nancy McGarity McGovern, John Alfred McGarity. Her early years of marriage were spent in Winthrop, but she blossomed in Lexington where she was a nanny to the Garvin family and became a second mother to Diana and Cindy Garvin. Marguerite had a take charge personality with a keen intelligence, a quick wit and a joyous sense of humor. She loved to read and she was a darn good cook! She was loved by many and respected by all; she will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and to her funeral mass on Friday at 10:00 am in St Brigid’s Church, Lexington. Burial to follow in Westview Cemetery.
