In Our Care
Margaret P Richardson, 92, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021 in Arlington. An accomplished cellist, gardener and optimist, Margie created surroundings of beauty, color, and light wherever she went. After graduation from Windsor School and college, she worked at MIT for the publication Tech Talk, and later for what is now DCF securing grants. She was an accomplished sailor, swimmer, and athlete and was happiest of all when on or in the water in Cohasset or on Cape Cod; when helping others as a volunteer for Cambridge at Home, Friends of Fresh Pond, and other local organizations; or watching owls and other birds and simply being in nature. Her adventurous side led her to bicycle across the US, visit several other countries, and to embrace all of life's experiences head-on. Her circle included her chamber music group, her poetry and meditation groups, her neighbors, and several other long-time close friends. She was the daughter of the late Charlotte and Wyman Richardson. She was predeceased by her siblings Wyman (Clara), Charlotte, and Fred (Ingemarie), her nephew, George, and is survived by several nieces and nephews: Sarah (Greg), Dorothy, Louisa (Damon), Raymond (Pamela), Margaret (Rick), Gerald McIntyre (Laura) Charlotte (Malcolm), Amy (Jonathan) and Kate (Adrian) as well as several great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-grand nephews and a great-grand niece.
Friends and family are invited to visit at DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt. Auburn St, Watertown, September 23 from 11AM to 1PM. Margie would ask you to honor her life by making a difference in your community in her memory, or a contribution in her name to Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
