Johnson, Lloyd of Arlington passed away peacefully on February 13th . He was 92 years old. He was raised in Toms River, NJ, drafted into the U.S. Army, and proudly served in the Korean Conflict and later received the Korean Peace Medal. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Maryannn H. (DeMatteo) Johnson. While at Arlington High School she volunteered to write to a soldier and that was the beginning of their beautiful love story. Loving father of Kathleen Johnson and Jean (Johnson) Delios and her husband Paul Delios. Dear grandfather of Lauren Ingegneri and her husband Matthew Cioffari and Sarah Ingegneri and cherished great grandfather of Matthew Lloyd Cioffari. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Lloyd enjoyed a 43 year career working in Arlington for Dudley Fuel and subsequently as a member of the Retired Men's club of Arlington. He loved his family, sports, and his home in Arlington. He and his wife were members of St. Eulalia Church in Winchester.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in memory of Lloyd to the Kaplan House in Danvers, MA. A private funeral mass will be held in Saint Eulalia Church on Friday February 19th at 11:00 am and can be live streamed at sainteulalia.org. A graveside burial service with military honors will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington at approximately 12 pm. All are welcome to attend. On behalf of the Johnson family, especially my Mom, thank you for all your support during a difficult time. My Dad was so loved by so many, not just as a Husband, Father, Uncle, and Friend but as someone who was there for people in so many ways.
My Mom asked me to post the link (below) to the Eulogy in case anyone wanted to read it. It is a tribute to my Dad's life and wonderful spirit and includes some favorite stories designed to bring a smile. I know that is how he would want to be remembered.
We miss you Dad but we are thankful for all the time we had with you and for the wonderful memories we shared.
