Sweeney, Joyce M. 85,of Arlington passed away on October 12,2016 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Chelmsford,.Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Andrew A. and Edith M. (Connors) Cunniff. She was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1948. After marrying George Sweeney in 1955, they settled in Arlington where they raised their six loving children. Joyce worked for many years at Symmes Hospital and was also a proud member of the Arlington Irish- American. Beloved wife of the late George J. "Gigi" Sweeney.
She is survived by her loving children, James B. of Arlington, Michael E. and late wife Janet of Salem, Sharon M. Valerio and her husband Michael of Burlington, Brian P. and his wife Jenifer of Arlington, Richard A. and his wife Mary of Arlington, and Robert A. and his wife Mary-Gayle of Woburn. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral from The DeVito Funeral Home 1145 mass Avenue ARLINGTON Tuesday morning at 10:30 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 in St. Agnes Church. Interment to follow Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
