Josephine M. (Rizza) Porciello, age 92 of Arlington, died peacefully on Sunday July 17 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Porciello. Together they shared 60 years of marriage.
Born and raised in the North End of Boston, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Archangela (Tulipano) Rizza. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. After raising her family, she worked for the Town of Arlington in Consumer Affairs until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her son Stephen Porciello in 2017; and her sisters Katherine Rizza and Michelina Guarente. She is survived by her son, Anthony F. Porciello and his wife Nancy of Peabody, daughter Rachel Cutliffe of Billerica, son Francis Porciello of Arlington and his life partner Kerry Tacey, and daughter-in-law Joyce Porciello of Arlington; seven grandchildren, Anthony R. Porciello, Stephen Porciello, Annemarie Hogan, Mark Porciello, Jenna Speck, Krista Ziolkowski and Michael Porciello; eight great grandchildren, Mia, Connor, Christian, Braydon, Evelyn, Grace, Stephanie and Levi; her brothers, Benedetto "Ben" Rizzo and John Rizza; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Mass. Ave., Arlington on Friday July 22nd from 9:00am to 11:00am. A funeral mass will be held in St. Camillus Church at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephine's name may be made to St. Camillus Church 1185 Concord Turnpike, Arlington, MA 02476
