Shea, Joseph J., a lifelong resident of Arlington passed away October 5, at the age of 86, peacefully with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of 63 years to Mary L. (Marchant). Devoted father of Michael and his wife Brenda of Woburn, Nancy Leger of Acton, James of Sarasota FL, Peter and Nancy of Beverly and Gerald of Vail CO. Loving grandfather of Matthew, Ashley and Casey Shea, Andrew and Nora Leger. Son of the late Carl and Eleanor Shea. Brother of Carleen Shea and husband Wendall Sprague of St. Augustine FL and the late Richard Shea, Robert Shea and Barbara Waldron. Brother in law of Mary Shea, Elizabeth Shea, Anthony DiPerna and his late wife Evelyn and the late Joseph and his wife Anne Marchant. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Joe was a Firefighter with the Town of Arlington for 33 years and also worked at the James (Skippy) Viglirolo Skating Rink for 30 years. Joe was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the American Legion Post 39. He was always known for his smile and quick Irish wit.
