Santamaria, Joseph M. of Waltham, MA and Naples, FL formerly of Belmont, MA, passed away on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at his home in Naples surrounded by his loved ones and friends. He is survived by his daughter Kate Santamaria Gouin and her husband Mathew; his loving partner, JoAnne Pizzuto and her family; Anne and Geoffrey Boyle and their sons Gavin & Dylan, and Jill and Jay Splaine; as well as many loving cousins and friends. He was the son of Joseph and Helen (O’Shea) Santamaria. Joseph was a Belmont high school graduate, a proud veteran of the US Navy, and a graduate of Fisher College. He was a lifelong athlete and lover of sports, starting as a member of the track and football teams in high school. Later in life, he became an avid golfer and was a longtime member of the Oakley Country Club where he started as a Junior member before becoming a full time member. Joseph was a lover of wine and all the good things life had to offer. He had a zest for life that was contagious to everyone around him. He lived everyday to the fullest and touched the lives of everyone that was lucky enough to know him. Family and friends are invited to visit in The DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn Street, WATERTOWN Wednesday morning May 19, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:30 with a funeral mass to commence at 10:00am in The Sacred Heart Church, Watertown. Burial to follow Belmont Cemetery.
