Joseph Francis Ottaviano, 95, passed away peacefully at his Waltham home on December 26, 2020, surrounded by this loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eleanor, and his two sons, Joseph Ottaviano (Carol) and Steve Ottaviano (Lorraine). He was blessed with four grandchildren, Kristen Sylvester (Dom), Kelly Bova (Frank), Joshua Ottaviano and Michael Ottaviano. He is also survived by sister Virginia Williams and brother Peter Ottaviano (Rosemary). He leaves behind a large extended family and will be deeply missed by all. Joe was born in Somerville, MA as a first generation American on February 8, 1925 to his parents Natale and Maria Giovannangelo Ottaviano. He loved his country and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. After his military service, he completed his undergraduate degree at Boston College, as well as his law degree at Suffolk College. Joe taught in the Cambridge School system and at the private school, Cambridge Academy. After practicing law in the Boston area for years, Joe purchased a manufacturing business, Rubber Right Rollers, and worked there until age 90. He enjoyed working at Rubber Right with his son, Steve, passing the reins of the company to him, as he continued to work there until 2015.
Joe was married to the love of his life, Eleanor, for 64 years. He loved watching his sons participate in various sports and rarely missed a game. His legacy to his sons was his strong work ethic and desire to do everything with excellence. A private service and burial for immediate family will be on Tuesday, December 29, at Mt.
