Joseph was the youngest boy who grew up in a family of 11. He was a dedicated hard working family man who was nick named Slicky for his ability to find a solution to any situation and was very loyal to his family and friends. Naturally gifted and talented with numbers despite not having higher education he was an excellent businessman and provided for his family.

Strong sportsman and entrepreneur, he brought life to Central Sq. Cambridge. He owned Central Lanes Bowling in the 50’s and it was enjoyed by the community for many years. He went on to provide for his family and remain successful up until his retirement at age 92.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday May 4th in the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn St. WATERTOWN from 11am to 1pm. There will be a funeral home service at 1pm and burial to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Watertown.

Joseph had two grandchildren, Jacquelyn & Carole and 3 great grandchildren he enjoyed spending time with and playing baseball in his 90’s. Truly an inspiration by so many and his legacy will continue to carry on with those fortunate enough to have had him in their lives. Because of Joseph’s strong passion for sports, he passed on knowledge and expertise in all sports to his son Joseph at an early age. Like his dad in so many ways, Joseph Jr. became an avid sports fan and adopted the knowledge and love of all sports.
