In Our Care

Jane E. Cash (Davis) of Arlington, formerly of Woburn, passed away on April 23. Beloved mother to Jennifer Lavoie and her husband Patrick of Medford and Willard Jackson Cash and his partner Jennifer Braziel of Albuquerque, NM. Loving grandmother to Alicia Costa and her husband John of Medford, James Lavoie of Medford, John Lavoie of Stoneham and Erica Lavoie and her fiancé Bryan Jackson of Beverly. Cherished sister to Sandra Davis and her husband Paul of Vero Beach, FL and the late Richard and Robert Davis. Jane, a retired Medford Public School teacher, is also survived by her sister in law Regina Davis of Winthrop and many dear nieces and nephews.

Jane volunteered at the local elementary school and eventually this work inspired her to go on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education and a 20+ year career teaching in the Medford Public Schools. She loved her family fiercely, and was well known for her idiosyncrasies, her generosity and caring, her love of children, cats, gardening, and the Maine coastline. She spent many summers and other vacations enjoying all Maine has to offer and sharing this with her family. She was very close to her sister Sandra who now resides in Florida, talking multiple times a day about anything and everything. She was also very proud of her brothers, Dick and Bob, who both served in the Navy. The family grew up in Woburn where they spent many days enjoying Horn Pond and the surrounding area. In Jane’s own words “We all loved that pond and went there whenever we could. It became a place for me to walk in comfort and peace. A magical and peaceful place”. Jane believed in hard work, honesty, and the value of education, and instilled these values in her beloved children, much to their gratitude. She also loved her home of over 50 years, creating memories for the entire family there. She will be missed, but always loved and never forgotten.
