Bonacci, Janario F., 92, lifelong resident of Cambridge. Born on November 11, 1923. Passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday June 4, 2016 surrounded by his caring family. Known to friends, neighbors, and family as Gene or Papa. Beloved husband of the late Antoinette Belcamino. Father of Gene and his wife Theresa Bonacci of Billerica, Linda and her husband Garey Scott of Waltham, Michael, the late Christine Bonacci of Cambridge and Linda Crusco, Thomas and his wife Karen Bonacci of Cambridge. Loving "Papa" to Robert and Brenda Bonacci, Scott and Elizabeth Bonacci, Mike Ananian and Rebecca Frye, David and Shirley Ananian, Emily Bonacci and Jesse Kline, Rosemary and Michael Clifford, Katherine and Michael Clee, Kerri Bonacci, the late Kathryn Bonacci and Matthew Bonacci. Great Grandfather of Kate, Grace, Audrey, Elle, Derek, Danielle, Ryan, Zoe, Reagan, and Domenic. One of ten children Gene is survived by two sisters, Teresa Del Vecchio and Frances Savarese. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gene attended Cambridge Public Schools and later served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army Air Forces from 1943-1945. All of Cambridge will forever enjoy Gene's beautiful landscapes created during his 70 years as founding partner and co-owner of Bonny's Landscape. Gene enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: tending to his lush backyard, working outdoors, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and was always with his radio playing in the background. Gene was always a true gentleman and a fixture in his Mount Auburn neighborhood. Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN on Wednesday at 8 am with a Funeral Mass to commence at 9 am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial to follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
