Fitzgerald, James A., “Q” of Lexington entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School Class of 1981, graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with his Bachelors, and Northeastern University with his Masters. Jimmy loved spending his summers with his cousins in North Sydney, Cape Breton, Canada. He had many hobbies including scuba diving, bird watching, and taking his family on many adventures. He loved history and sharing his knowledge. He turned his love of playing lacrosse into coaching youth lacrosse for the town of Lexington. Jimmy worked in the finance department at Massachusetts General Brigham for 23 years and served with the United States Coast Guard Sector Boston Auxiliary Flotilla 5-3 for 11 years. Jimmy’s favorite pasttime was being by the water at Cape Cod and especially Gloucester. Jimmy was predeceased by his loving parents John and Mary Fitzgerald. He is survived by his brother Daniel “Fitzy” and wife Karen Fitzgerald and sister Janet Fitzgerald all of Arlington. Also his niece Ashley Geib and her husband Shane of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, nephew Daniel and nieces Kayla Fitzgerald, Alexandria and Victoria Gonzales all of Arlington, his loving godmother Elizabeth Pinto of Venice, Florida and many relatives and friends.

A private viewing will be held at DeVito Funeral Home followed by a private mass at St. Agnes Church, Arlington. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Gloucester Fisherman’s Wives Association or Mass General Hospital.
