In Our Care

George M. Grigorakos, 94, of Belmont, MA, passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by his family.

George was born to the late Michael and Vasilo (Bessie) Kuzinos in Waltham, MA. He was a graduate of Waltham High School. Following graduation, he served as a Medic in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was assigned to the USS Consolation, a Medical Support Vessel as an Assistant to the Surgeon, Dr. William Stryker. After returning home, he was employed by W.H. Nichols for 42 years, as a Method's Engineer/Machinist. Ten years into his employment, a chance conversation with a new fellow employee and Korean War Veteran yielded the discovery that the individual was a successful patient of Dr. Stryker and "Greekie" which cemented a lifelong friendship.

George enjoyed spending time in Nature, birdwatching and going for walks in Mt. Feake Cemetery. In earlier years, he loved taking his Harley Davidson for rides in the country. He especially loved spending time with family and friends. He was a kind-hearted gentleman and an incurable optimist.

He was predeceased by his parents and siblings: James, John, Charles, Chris, Peter, and Stella; his two wives: Vivian (Lazaro) and Judith (Marsh). He is survived by his children: Sharon (and Carl) Mattos, Mike Grigorakos, and Chucky Salamone; two grandsons: Aaron Mattos and David Grigorakos. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Per his request, a Private Burial Ceremony will be performed.
