Elizabeth “Betty” Veinot, of Dedham, passed away suddenly on December 28th. She was 73 years old.
Mrs. Veinot was born in Quincy on Jan 16, 1944 to Elsie and Frederic S. Gibb , and was educated in Quincy and Worcester. She is pre-deceased by her two brothers, Frederic Gibb Jr. and Robert Gibb . She and her late husband David Veinot lived in Arlington for more than 40 years until his death in 2013. Betty worked at MIT, John Hancock Insurance Company and the Boston Science Museum , despite multiple life-long medical issues. Betty was a self-proclaimed “cat lady”, who was known for her lively collection of cat-themed clothes and decorations. She is survived by her sister-in-law Pat Gibb of Worcester and her sister in-law Ruth Hammond, of Auburn. Mrs. Veinot is also survived by her nieces and nephews— Matthew Gibb of Champaign, IL , Paula Gibb-Severin of Worcester, Rachel Gibb of Worcester, Sandra Johnson of Georgetown, Robert Gibb Jr. of Georgetown, and Susan Gibb of Gilford, NH.
