In Our Care

Eleanor Agnes (MacInnis) Granfield passed away peacefully in her home in Arlington, MA on February 10, 2022. Born on November 11, 1929 and raised in Charlestown, MA. Predeceased by her husband, Alexander Granfield. Proud mother of Eleanor Lawler of Gloucester, MA and Mary Danylik of Arlington, MA. Amazing Nana to Ryan Lawler, Colin Lawler, Alexandra Trafford, Evan Lawler and Patrick Danylik. Great Grandmother to Alexander Lawler, Isabelle Lawler, Evelyn Trafford and Emilia Trafford. Relatives and friends are invited to visit Saturday 9:00 to 10:00am in St. Eulalia Church, Winchester. Funeral Mass to commence at 10:00am. Burial is private. She was the matriarch of a proud family and spent her entire life providing love and help to others. She spent her years not just taking care of her own family, but also the Rissmiller family of Belmont, MA. Eleanor took advantage of the most meaningful things in life: family and fun. She was the life of the party. Always one for a great story and kept her wit to the very end. Her impression has been imprinted and passed on to too many to count. Forever “Nana”, an extremely independent woman who took on the responsibility and role of mother and father to her daughters and many others throughout her life. Could fix a leaky pipe and mend a heart at the same time. Loved by everyone who was lucky enough to meet her. Selfless to the end. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eleanor's memory to: St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
