In Our Care
CAMPLESE, Elaine Marie (Duggan) of Cambridge, went gently to God surrounded by her family on December 27, 2018. Daughter of the late Dorothy (Munhall) and James Duggan, and dearest sister of the late James Duggan. Beloved and loving mother of Leah Harrington of Westford, Cindy Camplese, Daniel Camplese, and Paula Carceo, all of Cambridge, and Theresa Rothfuchs of Hudson, NH. Adored grandmother of Kathryn Harrington, Robin Flaven, Gina Carceo, Colin Harrington, and Krista Maher. Proud great-grandmother of Luke, Tyler, Bryce and Samantha. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews, Munhall cousins, the extended Camplese family, and friends within the Mt. Auburn neighborhood. Longtime companion of the late William Boyle.
Elaine enjoyed a life-long love of cooking, trying new recipes well into her eighties in her tiny kitchen, gardening, where she tended to a few chosen flowers and herbs and produced the best tomatoes this side of Campania. She loved every sport that she could play or watch, relaxing on the Cape, and attending many of Boston’s finest annual traditions. Enthusiasm, generosity, and dignified humility were the hallmarks of Elaine’s character.
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday morning, January 3rd at 9 AM from the DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, followed by her Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown at 10 AM. Internment to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, January 2nd, from 4-8 PM.
