Donald D. Hodgins, lifelong Arlington resident, passed peacefully on August 2,
2023.

Donald was born on September 5, 1931, the only child of the late Elizabeth
(Bessie) and Alfred Hodgins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 25 years,
Marie Weafer-Hodgins originally from Dublin, Ireland. Donald is survived by his
cousins John and Angela McIsaac, Paul and Jeanne McIsaac, Elizabeth (Joseph)
McIsaac, Nancy (Francis) McIsaac, and three generations of cousins. He is also
survived by his sister-in-law Kate Smyth and childhood friend Edmund Flanagan.
Don was a graduate of Arlington High School and Boston College. He served in
the U. S. Army and had a long career in the insurance industry. Don had a wicked
sense of humor. He was a sports enthusiast and athlete. He was the captain of the
Arlington High baseball team, and Don shined on both the tennis courts and the
dance floor.

After his retirement, Don kept busy with properties that he owned in Melrose, MA
and Nashua, NH. He was a philanthropist and supporter of many causes, including
animal rights. His home was never without a pet kitty or two.

The family thanks Don's caregivers Mary of LifeCare Advocates, Sharlotte of
Tribute Home Care and Wherline for their loving care these past three years that
allowed Don to remain in the home he loved.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Church in Arlington on Saturday, August
12, at 10:00 a.m. Buriel will be private. A celebration of Donald's life will be held
in the near future.
