Charlotte (Letterio) MacDonough of Marlborough, ninety-five years old, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021. Charlotte was born in Boston on January 29, 1925, to John and Helen Hanson Letterio. A graduate of Watertown High School, Charlotte worked on a Hood Rubber assembly line during WWII, making fuel tank bladders for American B-17 war planes. After the war, she became a Bell Telephone operator.

In 1952, Charlotte married Robert James MacDonough, also from Watertown. Having moved to the outer suburbs, they settled in Marlborough, where Charlotte worked for many years at Bolton Manor Nursing home. With her keen wit and interest in current affairs, Charlotte was always a joy to converse with.

Charlotte was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert, daughter Diane MacDonough, brother John Letterio, and sisters Geraldine Valentino, Jacqueline Juliano, Ellen Carceo, and Carole Fagan. She leaves a son, Stephen, a daughter, Paula MacDonough, three granddaughters, three sisters, Audrey Libertini, Norma Sawyer, and Barbara Mattarazzo and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private, but messages of condolence can be sent to the DeVito Funeral Home in Watertown, MA.
