Catherine Julia Spencer of Arlington,passed away on Friday August 6th with her children by her side. Catherine was born in Cambridge, MA on September 6, 1951 and later moved to the Drake Village in Arlington, MA where she spent the last few years of her life.
Catherine is the daughter of the late Mary Sliney, She is survived by her ex-husband Gerald Spencer of Arlington, daughter Janet Barry of Arlington, son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Jennifer Spencer of Plymouth, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Robert Curry of Myrtle Beach (formerly of Billerica, MA.) Cathy's greatest joy was being called Nana by her 8 grandchildren; Callie Catherine, Adam, Caden, Cameron, Madison, Emma, Grace and the late Bryan Patrick Spencer. She also leaves behind her nephew Kevin Curry, and nieces Karen Curry and Sharon Curry-White. Cathy served as President for the Tenants Association in Arlington and will be missed by the many residents who called her a friend.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 11th from 4pm-7pm at DeVito's Funeral Home 1145 Mass Avenue in Arlington. A private family service will be held the following day in Plymouth, MA. Catherine will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery next to her beloved grandson Bryan.
