Hallinan, Catherine E. (Harrington) a life-long resident of Arlington, passed away on January 2, 2017, at the age of 92.
Born in 1924 in Boston, MA, Catherine was the cherished daughter of the late Catherine E. Harrington and the late Michael J. Harrington. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1942, and went on to work at the John Hancock Insurance Company for fifteen years. Married to the late James A. Hallinan in 1956, she was a devoted and loving mother to Michael J. Hallinan and his wife Christine of Tega Cay in South Carolina, Catherine H. Yow and her husband Edward of Arlington, Mary B. Fairbairn and her husband Gregory of Groton, and Ann M. Donahue and her husband Timothy of Wakefield. She was a beloved grandmother to Patrick, John, and Michael Hallinan, Sara Yow, Jenna and the late Conor Fairbairn, Emily, Alyson, and Claire Donahue. Catherine is survived by her beloved and devoted sisters, Helen Nugent of Lynnfield and Ann Kelley of Tewksbury. Predeceased in death by her sister Mary Rudder, her brothers Rev. James J. Harrington and John Harrington. Aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews. Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Massachusetts Ave., ARLINGTON on Friday at 9am with a funeral mass in St. Camillus Church at 10am. Burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
