Annese, Canio Louis of Billerica, MA, lovingly known as Chickie and former husband of the late Dorothy J. Annese who preceded him in death on January 18, 2017. Chickie was born on August 5, 1929, the beloved son of Angelina and Felice Annese. He was predeceased by his brothers Matteo and Michael and triplet sisters Jennie, Rose, Marion and Mary Annese. Their home on Bradbury Street in Cambridge was such a loving home always filled with relatives and many traditions. Their favorite tradition was making wine and sharing with family friends and neighbors especially around the holidays. Chickie attended the Cambridge Schools where he played football and like most young men of his generation, he supported his country by enlisting in the US Army stationed in Japan. His love of cooking, that he inherited from his father, blossomed and he became a great chef. He enjoyed working many years as a chef at the Hanscom Field Airforce Base. Chickie's sense of humor and along with his great stories always brought a smile to many faces. He was an avid Boston sports fan, although his love of horse racing was his number one favorite past time. Chickie is survived by his six children; Maryanne and Walter Perry, Robert and Sharon Annese, Suzie and George Allen, Linda Annese and Tim Parrigan, Rich and Liz Annese, and Stephen Annese all of Billerica, MA. Chickie leaves behind eleven adoring grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chickie is survived by his brother Jack and Dorothy Annese of Burlington, MA along with his nephews John and Dan Annese both of Tewksbury, MA. Friends and relatives are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown on Monday March 22 from 10am to 11am. A funeral home memorial service will commence at 11am followed by interment at Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the VA of Bedford Mass Health Care System.
