D’Aveni, Anthony R., of Arlington and Marshfield formerly of Cambridge passed away to God on November 16 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Marion (Blomquist) for 61 years. Beloved father of Richard D’Aveni of Hanover, NH, Marion Imposimato of Arlington, James D’Aveni and his wife Maria of Peabody, Diane D’Amico and her husband Anthony of Weston, Mary Ellen D’Aveni of Marlborough and Anthony D’Aveni and his wife Mary Wanamaker of Paxton. Grandfather of Ross and Gina D’Aveni, Diana and Ryan Imposimato, Danielle and Matthew D’Aveni and Jonathan and Nicholas Dell Isola. Funeral from The DeVito-O’Donnell Funeral Home 1145 Mass Avenue ARLINGTON Wednesday morning at 10:00 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 in St. Agnes Church. Interment to follow St. Paul Cemetery, Arlington. Visiting on Tuesday 3:00pm to 8:00pm. WWII Army veteran, he landed with the second wave at Omaha Beach and fought in the campaign for Cherbourg, France; in the Battle of St. Lo; and the Battle of Aachen, Germany; wounded twice in St. Lo and Aachen; and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. After the war he was a manager at Sears for 35 years. He was a loving and dedicated family man with a great of sense of humor that will be remembered by his family and friends forever.
