I only knew Robert for a relatively short time in his later years. In business and in life he shone out to me as a timeless gentleman. Honest and decent in business, incredibly warm and generous on the personal side. Wise and whimsical. All the elements of the perfect human being. My interactions with him add up to a relatively short spell of actual time. However, his impact was a constant thing. I will forever remember him among a handful of people, who stopped me in my tracks and made me aware, that even if only for a brief time, I had encountered the best of souls. He will forever remind me that there is still goodness in the world and a standard for decency and kindness to be emulated. James Sheils
