Obituary For Richard M. Connearney
Connearney, Richard M. of Southport, NC formerly of Cambridge on March 12th, surrounded by family. Richard was the son of Martin "Gunn" Connearney and Dorothea (Hoolien) "Dolly". Beloved husband of Elizabeth Connearney (LeBlanc) and loving father of Christopher and his wife Erin and Matthew and his wife Vanessa. Dear brother of Sally King and her husband Richard and loving grandfather of Emily, Ashley, Carly, Isabella and Ava. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and family. Rich was born in Cambridge, went to Saint Paul’s Grammar School for eight years then he went to Rindge and Latin High School in Cambridge. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and served in Vietnam 1966 to 1968. When he arrived home he went to a technical college where he earned his degree and started working for Polaroid for 30+ years. When he retired from there he went to the NFL films facility as a manager and worked there as well in North Carolina. Rich is known for his storytelling and his dry sense of humor. He loved his toys; always enjoyed getting out on the water in his boat or traveling on an adventure in his RV or motorcycle. Rich, I will always have the memories of playing cards at your house. Going to St Paul school and my visit to Southport. When navigating passed the Cape Fear River in the catamaran, I thought of you and called to say hello. RIP

Richie, so glad that you are no longer in pain, but it hurts to lose you. My memories of you as my cousin will last forever, especially the great times we had vacationing in Maine. RIP Rich.
