Obituary For John F. Ackerly Sr.

Ackerly, John F. Sr., of Arlington, April 26th. Beloved husband of 69 years to Nannette (DeBilio) Ackerly. Father of Karen Bruneau of Arlington, John F., Jr., and his wife Bernadette of Danvers, Mark A., and his wife Meg of Hollis, NH, Lisa M. of Wenham and the late Lyn E. Ackerly of Boston. Grandfather of Bridget, Jill, Erin, Jack and Thomas. Son of the late John and Mary Ackerly. Brother of Claire, Jean, Barbara, and Gus and his wife Linda. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruth, Arlene, Dorothy and Patricia. Brother-in-law of Roseanne Warren and her late husband Joseph “Chick” Warren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visiting Hours Thursday in The DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON from 5:00 to 7:00pm. John was an avid golfer and reader. Late member of The Wakefield Elks Lodge #1276. U.S. Marines Korean War Veteran. A graveside burial service will be held on Wednesday May 11th at 11 am at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. All are welcome to attend.
