Effective July 1, 2017 Mount Auburn Crematory will be closed for extensive renovations. It is expected to take 12 months to complete, and during that time we will utilize Newton Cemetery and Crematory. Newton Cemetery has a state of the art cremation facility and chapel.
Cremation is appealing to many people for various reasons. Direct Cremation is an option for those that want a simple (without service), dignified and affordable means of final disposition. We will utilize Newton Cemetery begining July 1, 2017 while Mount Auburn Crematory undergoes renovations.
Mount Auburn has published an informative four page booklet entitled "Understanding Cremation." Please click here to view a copy.
