It is with a heavy heart that the family of James E. Hefferon announces his passing on Saturday May 12th, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 84 years young. He was resident of Arlington, MA, formerly of The Villages, Florida. Jim was born in Bridgeport, CT and lived his early years in Stratford, CT. He later moved with his family to California then to Keene, NH. He studied engineering at the University of Bridgeport and was a curious and consummate engineer, an inventive, productive and fastidious creator of mechanical drawings who led the development of advanced computer-aided design (CAD) technology as it entered the market to replace hand drawings. A veteran of the Korean War, Jim had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He loved animals, was an outdoorsman and was very active and youthful his whole life. He enjoyed sailing, tennis, scuba-diving, bicycling, traveling with his family and helping his daughter run her Bicycle Travel company, Ciclismo Classico. In his later years he lived in Florida where he enjoyed life with his many friends.
James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years Valia Orazietti. He will be sadly missed by his only daughter, Lauren Hefferon, his three grandchildren Lorenzo Rugiero, Valentina Rugiero and Luca Rugiero, their father Mauro Rugiero, his four siblings Anita Pawlak, Edward Hefferon, Noreen Jankowski and Tom Hefferon, their spouses and his many beloved nieces and nephews.All are welcome and invited to a celebration of his life will take place on July 14th., at 11:30 at St Agnes Church in Arlington, MA followed by a luncheon at the Sons of Italy in Arlington from 12:30-4:00
